@Nigel_Farage Immigration hotels down 50% in 8 months - they seem much, much better than you give them credit for!

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall But it hasn't happened and if it does happen it will happen over several years with falling rolls creating lots more spaces that need filling? You think over 25% of the private sector will swap to state in September 2025 - we could have a small wager?

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall I was saying that 2,750 could switch to breakeven - only 51 have. Remember school rolls are falling too...

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall None but I was fairly generous with the average funding and remember LEAs have to fund independent schools with a plan too...

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall I was counting the average state place as £8,000 compared to £7,400 average this year - so being fairly generous.

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall That is less than 0.5 pupils per school so far... of course they have!

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall As I say, the figures I have seen are nowhere near yours - so lets just see.

@anaboultertv @BPhillipson So its a problem in less than 20% of LEA's? Probably all Tory councils just using this as a political bargaining chip? In Edinburgh (which I have seen the figures for) there has been 51 pupils leave - compared to 111 state schools available - even if full easy to accommodate!

@KitPeacock @anthonyboutall So for Edinburgh at the moment 10,570 in Private Schools, average fees say £14k so VAT £2.8 for a year. 51 to State schools at £8k a head. So currently raising £29.4m vs cost £0.4m. So approx another 2,750 could leave and it would break even which is about 25% of the pupils.

@CryptoDonAlt I quite like Elon for the technical achievements of his companies and his vision of taking humanity to the stars. The other stuff like the misrepresenting things constantly on here, not so good!

@KemiBadenoch @Conservatives Kemi - we have imported the majority of our food since the 1700s. Productivity in our farm sector is terrible compared to the Netherlands and our rivers are awash with effluent and chemicals.

@CaptFlack @NJ_Timothy @Miss_Snuffy P8 progress - its a narrow thing but its true if you define "best" by that measure. I didn't realise how narrow the exam entry was though - they just focus on the table subjects and everything else falls away. Most children do Eng, Maths, Sci and REwith only a few others.

@CreEnglish @NJ_Timothy @Miss_Snuffy @bphillipsonMP Labour are giving schools extra funds over and above what the Conservatives allocated - so although there may be some cuts, at least they are not as bad as they could have been eh?
