🧵4/6 This pathway differs from that reported in Californian 🍇 or Citrus🍊 groves, but is similar to that described in Apulian 🫒 or in Californian almond groves. This better knowledge of xylem feeder ecology may help for the design of epidemiological surveillance plans.

🧵3/6 #Xylella isn't widespread in the studied regions but xylem feeders are. Our results suggest a potential dissemination pathway of #Xylella to 🇫🇷🍇: xylem feeders establishing on herbaceous covers and moving into crop foliage when herbaceous habitat conditions deteriorate.

🧵2/6 We show that most xylem feeders are generalists and that herbaceous semi-natural habitats 🌱 (meadows, alfalfa fields, herbaceous vineyard borders, etc.) are the main sources of xylem feeders. Finally #Xylella🦠 was not detected in any of the 1017 xylem feeders screened.
