@Harrywufc @Exaldear @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv @SanJoseEarthqua @PayPalPark We still haven’t seen solid plans for the stadium proper. They’re around somewhere but not for public eyes. My worry is they’ll make a huge oversight because they’ve not consulted the people who will actually use the stadium.

@Harrywufc @Exaldear @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv @SanJoseEarthqua @PayPalPark Maybe once we fill it up we can get a big southern stand. I quite like the aesthetic of mismatched stands, it gives a historical vibe and is more interesting than the monotonous (although impressive) bowls we see in the modern age.

@Exaldear @Harrywufc @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv @wufcofficial are taking a lot of inspiration from @SanJoseEarthqua stadium @PayPalPark with the open end. They use the open end as an events and activation area, and have the longest outdoor bar in North America under the scoreboard there.

@CMac980 @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv It will happen, everybody behind the scenes is very committed to the project and there’s been a lot of money invested already. If there’s another pandemic or another builder goes under then maybe it will fall apart, but otherwise it’s on track to host games from 2027.

@ThePlayerAgent_ @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv That hasn’t been the case since the masterplan was submitted, which was over three years ago. If they build the southern stand it would take the capacity beyond 15k.

@Jots3876 @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv I’ve circled the car parks here. The one closest to the stadium is more of a transit station, and parking might be limited to key personnel and accessibility parking.

@ThePlayerAgent_ @wufcofficial @suitedbootedtv There is no southern stand in the current plans. It’s an open activation area, with scope to build an extra stand there if necessary.

@wufcofficial This is the first clear timeline we have seen on the residential and commercial development. Populating the site with buildings, businesses and people will take eight years. YourLand will not be responsible for the delivery of the stadium itself.

@daw21534121 @David62259748 @edward_Neb Pre-works have begun, but I think it’s still more likely to be finished in 2027. Just in time for a game or two in the 26/27 season, which is the deadline WMG has set itself.

@David62259748 @edward_Neb As it stands, the ETA for the first professional game to be played at the Wyndham City Stadium is late 2026 or early 2027. Capacity is expected to be closer to 10k when the first game is played there, with the remaining 5k seats to come the following season.

@APIAFan @wufcofficial Western United should start up an NBL team and rename the club to West Melbourne Athletic while they're at it.
