Farsi was the predominant language (well spoken by the literate classes) prior Urdu becoming national language. Areas such as Peshawar, etc still hold populations who still speak Farsi. I myself have family on my dads side whom are Farsiwans and fluently speak the language

Kinda true but also not true. Back in the day the city or region I come from (KPK, Pakistan) Sunnis, Sufis, non-Muslim used to commemorate Muharram with the Shia population even though they didn’t get involved in latm, or such forms of Azadari. They still Attended + paid their
