We have now completed over 100 bat activity surveys since 1st May and last night was arguably the most spectacular. Over 20 noctule bats were closely observed foraging at a site near Leconfield, E. Yorks. @_BCT_ @Mammal_Society @MammalNextDoor @BBCSpringwatch @EYBG1

An early start to count wading birds on farmland close to the Humber Estuary. 32 curlew have been observed near Hedon, 6km from the estuary. This functionally linked land is often overlooked at this distance but is important habitat at high tide. @_BTO @BTO_EY_H @humbernature

148 days ago we commenced our 2023 bat activity survey season. 237 surveys later and averaging nearly 6 surveyors on site each day, we will conclude the survey season tonight in Bishopthorpe, York. Another fabulous effort from our experienced team of surveyors. @_BCT_ @TeamNEYEDC
