Streamers are asking viewers not to "trauma dump" not because they don't want you to access help, or avoid talking about what's happening in your life, but because they are not equipped to help you in the way you need.

Trauma dumping is similar to venting but done in an "unsolicited, unprepared way, where a person dumps traumatic thoughts, feelings, energy onto an unsuspecting person," whether it be a close friend or a stranger on social media.

Trauma Dumping in a Twitch Chat can also cause issues for people other than just the streamer, you cannot possibly know what another chat member is dealing with in their life. Reading a message they did not consent to that contains trauma or intense news, can cause many issues.
