Interim Commissioner of Corrections Doug Burris said he was a little nervous to take the job, but ultimately he believes things will continue to improve at the St. Louis city jail. Updated story below 👇🏾with more from Burris' St. Louis City Justice Center report.
The St. Louis mayor has appointed Doug Burris as interim commissioner at the city jail. The city initially hired Burris in early December to recommend fixes to the troubled jail, where at least 18 detainees died since 2020. @WimbleyJourno reports:
