In Geography, Y5 located specific biomes using google maps and compared and plotted the locations on a longitude and latitude map. We then used grid references to pinpoint their exact locations discussing their proximity to the Equator and the Tropics. 🗺️

🧊❄️ In Reception we have been busy saving some Arctic animals stuck in Icebergs. The Children worked together to discover where in the Reception provision the ice would melt the quickest❄️🧊

Reception and Nursery had a fabulous Christmas Party this morning. We enjoyed lots of dancing and party games. We then finished of our celebration with some delicious snacks and treats. 🎄

We are mad for fractions in Y6! We combined the skills of finding equivalent fractions, simplifying them, ordering them, adding them and subtracting them. We’re so proud of the progress these children have made. ✨🧮📈

Year 1 had great fun in our maths lesson this morning exploring 3D shapes. We used clay to make different shapes and then we labelled them 😊 @3saintsmaths

In Science, Y5 became marine engineers for the afternoon. Working in groups to design and plan their own investigations to test water resistance. They were given a task of designing and creating shapes out of clay that would move the SLOWEST in the water: @the3saints

Y5 investigated air resistance this afternoon, our investigation question was: Do parachutes with a greater surface area fall quicker? In groups we created parachutes out of the same materials but changed the size of the them. We then times how long it talk to fall. @the3saints

Y5 exploring friction in Science by investigating ‘Whose shoes have the most friction?’ We were introduced to a Newtonmeter and measured friction in Newtons. We tested each shoe 3 x and averaged our results. Then discussed the results. @the3saints

In Reception we have been learning all about Diwali. This week we have been exploring Diya lamps. The children have been extremely creative and made their own lamps for their houses. They are beautiful 🎆✨
