Islands provide critical refuges for threatened species. Radio-tracking on foot across rugged terrain on islands can take hours! And this is why we are excited about our partnership with
@NoExtinctions
as our drone technology easily accesses remote areas.
#wildlifeconservation
The time it takes to track down all your tagged animals is one of the biggest impediments to anyone undertaking ground-based radio-tracking. While it’s often accepted as part of the job, people can often find themselves spending hours trying to locate a single animal.
#drones
Radio-track wildlife, invasive species, and livestock the efficient way. Save time and money when radio-tracking animals! With Wildlife Drones’ you can cost-effectively collect more radio-telemetry data, more often and with less effort.
#wildlifedrones

#radiotracking
We were able to demonstrate how easily our drone technology could track the Kakapo on Whenua Hou Island. Compared with spending hours radio-tracking on foot, we were able to track 19% (40 birds) of the global kakapo population all at once.

Wildlife Drones was deployed to assist Dr Don Fletcher in tracking Rosenberg's Goannas to detect radio signals and see their locations in real-time. We could even detect a goanna that was underground in a wombat burrow.
