Creator of YouTube fan series 'Sodor the Early Years' and 'Sodor the Modern Years'.
If someone's saying bad stuff about me, don't bother telling me.
He/him.
Okay folks, I'm going to put this on record. Requesting that I add a certain character, or do a certain plotline, etc. is a guaranteed way to ensure that it will *not* be in my series. I've said it enough times, I don't take requests.
A little while ago, I mentioned that Glenn the Quiet Engine had been reworked. I'm now ready to reveal what the title of this next mini-series (after 'Harbour Engines') will be.

"Are you sure about this, Ten Cents?"
"Oh, I pushed freight cars on barges all the time back in Bigg City."
"Freight cars? What about locomotives?"
"You're the first!"
"I'm puzzled. If you diesels are superior to us steam engines, then why do you need an extra tender to stop your train? Surely being able to stop trucks is just as important as pulling them."
"We're lighter on the rails. Less damaging than you lot, with your piston blows."
Here's a better look at my Diesel 10 model(s). Big thanks to
@BabyKnuckKnuck
, who not only did the faces, but also allowed me to use the body mesh from his model of the character.
Thomas in his rebuilt (post-breakfast) shape is complete. I've also done this version up in his Adventure Begins livery.
If STMY ever makes it to 2015, I think I'll have him appear in that livery as a tie-in for the 70th anniversary.
"Lucy was always going about collecting scrap. Always scavenging, always smiling. Trying to be friendly. But that smile didn't quite reach her eyes. We all knew she'd be willing to cart us away to be melted down, should it come to that."
How many fucking times do I have to explain this??
Victor has even put up a post about how it's not his intro, on his channel's community tab. It's even the pinned comment on this video.
FFS.
I've finished Pug. Here she is as she would've appeared in 'The Eight Famous Engines'. I've also done her up in LMS and BR late livery, as well as a private owner livery.
Here's the final update before I start filming that standalone episode. Henry the Green Engine, in his rebuilt form. He also has updated faces, thanks to
@BabyKnuckKnuck
. (And yes, I've updated the faces on the original shape model too.)
These are the headcodes I'm using for my filming. They're the closest we'll get to official NWR headcodes.
Interestingly, the 'TVS Style' headcode is for an empty wagon or mineral train.
"So you're our new engine?"
"That's right. My name's Winston."
"Pleased to meet you. It'll be good to have a bigger chap like you about. We're getting tired of having to double-head our trains."
**
Just a small glimpse of
#STMY
lore.
A couple of days ago, I tweeted about an animation that was a bit of a thorny issue. Here's what I was working on: a bunch of Rosies! She will be getting her own mini-series in STMY.
She's in several liveries, and her faces were done by
@BabyKnuckKnuck

Righto. One thing I enjoy doing is exploring more obscure or passed-over bits of the RWS.
"He used to work in a factory, and his language is often strong."
Single sentence. Plenty of scope for exploration.
First Meeting.
"I don't think I've seen a vessel like you before, um, Andreas."
"It's a long story. Call me Andy, everyone else does. Apparently I'm 'andy to have around."
So, I've made my own express coaches based off the Southern Railway 'Maunsell' coaches. I believe the TVS express coaches were modified models of these.
I've done four versions - a compartment coach, dining coach, dining/kitchen and brake coach. (1/2)
Culdee is beside himself!
The one with the grin is as he was built in 1900, and the one with the smirk is as he was after 1964, when Crovans' Gate started maintaining them.
All of the first 5 will get 1900 and 1964 versions, aside from Godred (for obvious reasons).
I've updated my Percy model with some new details, based on the GWR loco 'Trojan'. Original on the left, updated on right.
I'm planning to update a few more, but they won't be as extensive as Percy's. As per my usual release policy, they'll be released after being on-screen.
When the precursor railways were formed into the NWR, their engines were reallocated. In this vintage photo we have Edgar, the former no. 4 of the TK&ELR. He was repainted in the black livery of the NWR's works unit and numbered W1. He was based at the works.
#STMY
Just for the heck of it, I've done Benson in the livery of the engine that inspired him in the first place. That unnamed blue engine from 'The Monster Under the Shed'.
"Did somebody squash your funnel, Percy?"
Percy's only response was a smirk. Unlike Thomas, he knew what this new funnel of his meant.
(New Percy faces by
@BabyKnuckKnuck
.)
"Hello, Ruth, is it? I'm Edward."
"That's right. Are you part of this new railway?"
"Yes, but I've only been here a few weeks. Thank you for helping us out."
"Building three railways into one sounds like a challenge. I think I'll enjoy it."
#STMY
(1/16)
"You know, driver, I don't mind that 87546 switched trains on me."
"Really?"
"Yes. This fish train, the cool evening air, I really find it quite pleasant. Wouldn't mind doing it regularly. If it's alright with you?"
"It should be alright."
"And you, fireman?"
"Sure."
#STMY
Okay folks, here's Thomas the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway E2 tank engine, in his original shape. Mesh is done and animated. Now I've just got to texture him.
His original shape will be in 4 liveries:
- LBSCR Black (no. 105)
- NWR Blue
- WW2 Black
- TAB green.
Just realised I used the wrong screenshot in my previous tweet. That was a version with Alice's cab, which I later changed out for Gordon's. This is the actual Mk 1 Henry model.
I've updated my 'Pre-Kipper' Henry model. Following discussion here and on Discord, I decided to rework him into a new shape. This shape, to be pacific (pun intended).
It's mostly kitbashed from my Gordon model, with some parts from Alice (mostly in the tender). (1/3)
"Pug! So they did buy you after all."
"Indeed. Heard you were worried."
"Well, we know what 'withdrawn' really means. Your new livery suits you. You've been given an air pump, too?"
"Yes. To be on the safe side, apparently."
"I'm not surprised, after what happened."
(1/5)
"Purple, Bert? Really?"
"It adds a splatter of colour around here, Diesel. Everything's grey and brown."
"Hmph. At least we can tell you two apart from a distance, now."
(And yes, this will be
#STMY
canon at some point.)
"I don't know why you took such a high number, Benson. There's only 5 of us in the NWR fleet. Yet you picked 13?"
"Part of my original number, Gordo. Always found it lucky. Mr Hatt didn't say no."
"Right. Be careful with my coaches, they're not trucks. And don't call me Gordo!"
Here's my next model update. James the Red Engine. It's a bit more subtle than Percy's. Mostly an open footplate (under the boiler) and chassis, and some extra detailing.

So, I've had a few questions about the green engine in the background of that shot of Benson and Caden in 'Monster Under the Shed'. So here's a reverse-angle of that scene.
After seeing some close-ups of Reverend Awdry's Thomas model, I noticed that it had black along the top of the tanks. I liked that look, the lining looked less busy.
As such, I've added it to his two 2012-onward models.
So, I just discovered there's two different coffee pot locomotive designs. Everyone seems to make the first (red) one, as that's what was used in the TVS.
I find that second (green) design pretty interesting.
My next update, the Scottish twins. As it happened, I'd already updated them recently, so it was just a question of sorting out the brake hoses and footplate.
#STMY
lore drop.
Terence worked on the Isle of Man before coming over to Sodor in 1947. It was Ten Cents who brought him over, by barge. The two have been firm friends ever since, despite not seeing each other that often.
During 'Eight Famous Engines':
"...and that's all there is to it, Pug."
"Thanks, Percy."
"Percy," called the yardmaster. "You've got to help. Thomas has overrun the buffers."
"He was bragging about that d**n race with Bertie again, wasn't he?"
Here's something I'll be releasing after the
#STMY
Rowan mini-series goes out. Sand wagons, which were used to carry locomotive sand to motive power depots.
#RailwaySeries
BTW, this is Irene. She's based on 'Fiji' of the Stratfold Barn Railway, and has a similar story. Built in England and sent to Queensland for sugar cane working, she gets brought to the Island of Sodor.
Thanks to
@mrbenncosplay
for research assistance.
Iris surveyed the small yard behind the sheds.
"I use it for overflow storage," Diesel explained.
"Is that why it was built?"
"I honestly don't know. Percy once told me it was like this when he got here."
As it serves lots of farms, the Skarloey Railway runs livestock trains.
These livestock vans were loosely based on a Welshpool & Llanfair prototype, and are now available as part of the Skarloey Railway rolling stock pack on my website.
Two days. Two fucking days and someone's already converted the models from my new website to Android.
Three days to put the site up, and two days before I'm considering taking it down. Just follow the fucking rules, is that really too much to ask?
The LBSCR E2 is a fairly big engine, when you look at it.
Got my plans accurately scaled this time, and finished the basic shape. Now it's time for detailing.

I've mentioned previously that the Ffarquhar Quarry will be closing down in my series. As this won't be happening for a while, I'd like to provide a glimpse of what's going to be happening.
Mavis will be bought by the North-West Railway. (1/3)
It's December, and it hasn't been the best year for most of us. So I've decided to release the updated versions of my previously released models, for Christmas.
No reskins or modifications, please.
Details and a download link are here:

I'm still getting used to filming with headcodes. But it also gives an opportunity for shots like this, where Henry's driver is removing a lamp after a run.
"You sure tell some pretty tall tales for such a small locomotive, Rex."
"It's true, Rosie. Mike did shoot his whistle off while trying to clear a cow off the line."
Let's try this again:
***
"What ugly wheels you've got."
"They're not ugly, they're caterpillars!"
***
A few people pointed out that Terence's scaling was a bit off, so I've adjusted him a bit. He's now 80% his original size. I think this works better.
Art thread. All of these were commissioned from

episodes that introduced characters. I figured I should share them all in one place, so here we go. (in alphabetic order) 1/3
It's beginning to feel a bit like Christmas, so I've decided to release some of the models I've been working on recently.
(All have faces by
@BabyKnuckKnuck
.)
For starters, some of my rolling stock now has 3D faces. (1/4)
Mike doesn't mind taking livestock trains. Unlike passengers, the cows don't complain.
These Arlesdale livestock vans have now been released on my website.
So, my 10th anniversary special for 'Sodor the Modern Years' will be a remake of 'Ode to George Carlin', based on a comic by
@NickOnRipple
. Here's some shots from the set.
As it's the first one filmed on my new laptop, it'll be in 2K HD.
#STMY
While Culdee's faces are being made, I've started filming part 1 of 'Rowan the Garratt Engine'.
Won't say too much, but the first part is a bit of a perspective flip. 😉
I've started filming that
#STMY
stand-alone episode I've been planning. It's an adaptation of 'The Monster Under the Shed', and takes place between 'Adeline the Phantom Engine' and 'Rowan the Garratt Engine' mini-series.
Naturally, I've expanded on the story a bit.
#STMYMUTS
Okay, time to make it official.
Sodor the Modern Years will return. 7 episodes, two trilogies and a standalone in between. Just to wrap things up properly.
Please do not ask about a timeline for when they'll be relased. I'll answer that question now; when they're ready.
