The game, no. The 1998 anime by JC Staff holds a lot of nostalgia value for me and many others growing up with anime. The Studio DEEN reboot, well: First season was mediocre but picked up halfway Second season was great Third season was not as good but still fun Fourth season was the worst, as they tried to condense six novels in 12 episodes

It began as a series of light novels in 1994, which went on to sell 14 million copies. It got an anime adaptation in 1998 and a reboot a few years ago. The game you're talking about was a Playstation 2 launch title (Scion of Sorcery) that was regarded as one of the weaker launch titles for the system. It is a bad game, but it's one of my personal favorite bad games.
