The last time I farmed rice in Jos, "herders" did not feel the need to feed their "hungry" cattle until exactly a week to harvesting the mature dry rice; hectares, including neighbouring farms, were totally consumed in "one night". When we stop deceiving ourselves that this is a farmer-herder clash, we may begin to deal with the issue. An Islamist group wages a war by killing, raping, abducting and collecting ransom, and destruction of farmland. What you see here is an act of war by Jihadists, not a clash between any farmers and herders.
