My theory here is that we sent checks to people at the bottom of the income spectrum and that life satisfaction at the bottom of the income spectrum went up a lot and that we should redistribute money more.
My theory here is COVID taught people how much they value everyday activities that they had to give up during the worst phases of the pandemic, and it will probably be harder to get people to give those up in the future if new waves/future pandemics hit.

This is a smart thread. Ultimately Dems lost seats because they had a ridiculously good 2018 and a merely good 2020.
Dems gained only one swing House seat (so far). So Dem challengers who were progressives lost; Dem challengers who were centrists lost; and everyone in between lost.
And the 6 seats Dems lost (so far) were mostly reddest Dem-held seats in the country, the obvious hanging fruit.

When I was leaving working for the Governor, multiple people told me not to tell anybody where I was going next, because the administration would try to block me from leaving. They blocked people from going to jobs at state agencies frequently. This is just who they are.
