π± Maximising your fieldβs potential - choosing the right grass mixture π± Grass should be treated like a crop - selecting the right mixture is key to long term performance. Consider: π’ How long would you like the mixture to last? π’ What is the sward going to be used for? π’ What are your targeted silage dates? π’ Make sure you consider your soil type. π’ Should I include clover with the mixture? Make informed choices for a productive sward! π± π Read more here π #agriculture #farming #grassmixtures

π± Robbos fodder beet holding strong! π± At Balvaird Farm, Robbos fodder beet has proven its resilience, weathering 10 days of frost - getting down to an icy -8Β°C! βοΈ The tops are still reasonably healthy, providing essential protein and cleaning up well. 55 cows are thriving on this system, eating just 1 bale of silage (14kg/head) compared to 30kg indoors - plus the added savings on straw and other resources! π
