Candles in winter are lovely, but make sure you're disposing of those containers properly! Containers like glass, tin or metal tealights are garbage. Wrap glass containers in newspaper/flyers before putting them in the garbage. Leftover wax is garbage too:

When placing waste material curbside for collection please ensure that items are not placed on or behind snowbanks. Material needs to be accessible and visible for collectors.

Expired/unwanted over-the-counter medications, prescriptions & vitamins shouldn't be flushed down the toilet or put in the garbage. Instead, visit a pharmacy for safe disposal. Enter your postal code at Health Products Stewardship to find a location.

Cardboard is a resource. Redirect cardboard away from the landfill and put it to good use by recycling the material. Flatten, cut-to-size, bundle and place between/beside your blue boxes. Details on our Waste Whiz search tool:
