One of the biggest challenges that marketers face today is... ...tracking the performance of marketing channels. Why? Simply, because during the customer journey, there are multiple touchpoints involved, ...and tracking the entire journey from the first touch to conversion is not an easy task, especially when using tools like GA4. It's like trying to follow the path of a squirrel in a thick forest... Which tree did it climb first? Which path did it take? That's exactly why we developed marketing attribution in @usermaven. This powerful tool makes it simple to see which channels and sources are influencing your pipeline and conversions the most. It's like having a GPS for your marketing efforts! I've recorded a short video to show you what I am talking about. This will help you streamline your marketing efforts in the right direction and put you on the fast track to growth. What's your biggest growth challenge right now?

It's also because the analytics tool in the screenshot doesn't track returning users. Hence, you don't know what was the first source of those visitors. Plus, it makes numbers incorrect. Users with multiple sessions are counted as different users resulting in incomplete/incorrect stats.

It's mostly direct because the analytics tool you are using doesn't track returning users. So if someone came from Google in their first session and then opened your website directly next day. They'll be counted as 2 different users, one from direct and the other one from Google. It’s flawed attribution!

This happened to us @ContentStudioio in our blog Installation and we had to move our blog from sub domain to /blog. We redirected old blog posts to the new links and let spam links deindex on their own. There's no other solution as far as we know because the searcg console's API can't process these many links.

Indiehackers are going crazy over low profit margins of @buffer. The truth is... Positive cash flow and growth are more important for SaaS businesses. Here is a list of 50 fastest growing but least profitable companies. Profitability is not a priority for many, as evident in the negative EBITDA margins across the board. If you are a SaaS founder, focus on growth and net positive cash flow instead of higher profit margins to increase the net worth of your business.

2024 was a profitable year for Buffer, something we've really celebrated as a team after two years of losses. We closed the year with a net profit of $202,459. But perhaps the most exciting part for me of achieving a profit is that we were able to distribute our profit share bonus again. I'm focused on building a business where when we succeed as a team, we all reap the rewards of that success together. This isn't generally how it works - in most tech companies, investors will be the real beneficiaries of growth and profitability. Here's how the profit share works at Buffer: - We distribute 15% of our net profit as profit share bonuses - So for 2024, our pool was $30,369 The pool is distributed based on 3 components: - We distribute 40% of the pool equally across the team, representing the team effort to achieve our results - We distribute 40% of the pool weighted by salary, reflecting the varying levels of responsibility and impact - We distribute 20% of the pool weighted by tenure, acknowledging the value of long-term commitment We're a 73 person team and this year, the average profit share bonus is $416. It's not a huge number by any means, but it represents a huge achievement by the team of turning around a multi-year decline. And we're on track in 2025 to increase our net profit (and the bonuses) by 5X or more. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to share this outcome and the numbers with the team in our January All Hands a couple of weeks ago. Now we're back at work to deliver a ton of value to customers in 2025 and see where we land a year from now.

@tdinh_me Their focus is not profitability, instead they like to run a healthy business with good salaries. I am sure they can go profitable if they ever want to by cutting down their expenses.

Monthly sales/revenue is NOT equal to MRR. Is it so hard to get? Or do people deliberately quote their revenue as MRR here on X.
