Many survivors struggle to heal or access justice because they don’t know what steps to take after being sexually violated. Remember, it is not your fault, and you deserve support. Knowing what to do can help protect your health, preserve evidence, and guide you toward justice. Here are steps to take that will prioritize your safety, health and access to justice. #RestoringDignity

With support from the Scottish Government and @oxfaminKE we provided psychosocial support to 155 survivors and medical care to 60 during the March 2024 Nairobi floods. Mirabel, not her real name, was displaced and sexually violated after seeking refuge.

According to a United Nations report, at least 165 women were raped and killed during a prison break at Muzenze Prison in Goma, Congo. This inhumane act is part of a broader pattern of sexual violence being used as a weapon of war in eastern Congo. The world must not turn a blind eye while women’s bodies are used as battlegrounds in war. We call upon the @_AfricanUnion , @UN and world leaders to urgently intervene and protect the people of Congo. An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. #HumanRightsMatter
