Without enough money to top up their prepayment meter credit, many people needing to use our foodbank aren't able to put their heating on, despite the cold. With your support, they can receive an emergency fuel voucher alongside emergency food 🔥⬇️

This help from @wandbc is great - supermarket vouchers and prepay fuel vouchers for people and families experiencing hardship. They're grants not loans, so you don't need to pay them back ⬇️

Last week was the busiest in our 11-year history. We provided 625 emergency food supplies to local people referred to us in severe hardship. *Huge* thanks to everyone who has donated to enable us to provide a Supermarket Gift Card to each household🎄

We're so grateful to the Julia Rausing Trust @JuliaRTrust for generously giving £10,000 to our Warmer Winter emergency fuel voucher appeal. This will briliantly match-fund the generosity of our local community, and directly help local people in hardship this winter. Thank you

This winter many foodbank guests can't afford to top up the credit on their gas or electricity prepayment meter - leaving them without enough heating, hot water and fuel for cooking. Please give to our emergency fuel voucher appeal if you can. Thanks 🔥

So far this week we've provided 370 emergency food supplies to local people & families in hardship, as well as further support, advice and emergency fuel vouchers for each person who needed it. Thank you to everyone who gives to make this possible, including our volunteers! 💚🎄

The fact that children are especially strongly affected by hunger and hardship is deeply concerning – 62% of all support from Wandsworth Foodbank went to families with children during the last six months. We need urgent action on hardship and hunger.

People often tell us how hard it feels to need to use a food bank, and that they never thought they'd need to. We try to make it as welcoming and dignified as possible, including through the care our amazing volunteers take in packing each family's food! 💚
