Now more than ever civil rights, diversity, equity & inclusion matter. We unveiled a sign to honor 4 Howard University students who defied Jim Crow on a bus in Fairfax County 11 years before Rosa Parks. I joined @NOVA_Parks, @NAACPVirginia & Jasmine Carr, niece of Rosa Parks.

Today is #TransitEquityDay when we remember and honor the courageous contributions that Rosa Parks made in the struggle for #CivilRights . Celebrated on her birthday, let's give thanks to her today and the many others who fought for equity and dignity.

I am once again disappointed that the full @VASenate voted in favor of an unwanted casino in Tysons today. I urge the @VaHouse to defeat this bad idea.

Disappointing development. The @VASenate Committee on Finance and Appropriations just voted 9 to 6 to report out to the full Senate the bill to authorize a casino in Tysons.
