WWHS encountered a severe plumbing problem earlier this morning. Students were put in a modified shelter in place until approximately 9:30. All students remain safe. School is canceled at this time. We will provide regular updates on the situation to the public.

UPDATE: All students and staff are safe. MCPD is currently conducting interior sweeps. We will continue to update the community.

MCPD is still on scene at Walt Whitman High School. MCPS has evacuated staff and students. Officers continue to investigate the validity of the reported threat. More information will be released as it becomes available.
