for the huge raid today! It was great to hear what you're working on and share some of the game dev process with you. :)
I feel a bit shy to share this, because it feels personal to have such a spotlight on me, but I am really grateful to be featured in a Microsoft Developer Story.
Thank you

Hi, I'm Lana. I'm a programmer/artist making the survival game STRAIN.
But if you wanna know what a game dev looks like in action, come by the stream: :)

Retweet this and your crush will love you forever!! 💖💖💖
Starting tomorrow I'll be taking a 5-day streaming break which is the longest I've taken in 5 years. I'll be visiting some friends out west.
I won't be bringing a computer and plan to be on my phone as little as I can. Wish me luck.
See you all Monday! :)
24 hours in and we are way past the goal and well on our way to the stretch goals!
I'm so excited to make STRAIN amazing. It'll be like a time capsule with nods to many of the cool people who were along for the journey!
Thank you again, everyone!! <3
Things I've searched while doing game dev that will put me on a list:
- "weight of a human head" (for ragdoll physics)
- "best way to destroy children"
- "how to pop a stash"
Story based games are a lot of work. You're basically writing, directing and animating a whole film alongside the production of a game.
They're like... A lot of fun to play though :)
Working on the visuals has been so fun! It feels good to be working towards how I want things to look now that the main mechanics are in. :)

Tag a creator you’d like to see as a character in a game.
I’ll be picking a creator who plays the STRAIN demo and will make a 3D version of them to be in the game.

For those of you who laughed at me for setting off the fire alarm on stream by burning water...
I've decided to finally learn how to cook water correctly:

This Ride 4 footage on PS5 shows the first-person perspective of a rider racing through a suburb on a rainy day and demonstrates the special phenomenon that can occur when a game passes a 'reality detection' threshold
Don't Notice Me is 80% off right now!!!
That means it's only $1.79 CAD.
It's a reverse escape room game where you try to break into a home. It's a comedic, narrative puzzle game. I spent a year making it and I hope you enjoy playing it!
