No one told you this about freelancing (pt. 1) Imposter syndrome is real. The solitary nature of freelancing can make it mentally difficult to stay on track. Without coworkers or colleagues to provide validation and support, you'll have to find it within yourself.

Goal surpassed by 540%. Mental. On August 13, when I tweeted this out, I had an audience of 27 people. The goal was 50 by EOM. It's August 31. We're at 270. Thanks to everyone for the support. Will keep the good content flowing.

Starting out, my focus was to make cool-looking websites. Realized it's useless if the website is "cool" but doesn't convert. Client goals are paramount. Shifted my focus. Now, we have a design that converts AND looks good. Win-win. Lesson learned. Only up from here.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all with quitting. Often, quitting provides room for new things to blossom. Things you might quit: - a book that doesn't serve you - a course you're not learning from - a relationship that's not reciprocal - a job with limited growth opportunities

One thing this community has taught me is that you don't have to be an expert to share your work. There's more value than you think in looking at the work of a total noob, beginner, or intermediate creator. There's levels to this. Everyone had to start somewhere.

An exhilarating aspect of growth is gradually witnessing your workflow becoming more efficient. Something that once took forever now takes an hour. Elements can be replicated and modified rather than built from zero. Less googling. It's all rather exciting.

Big takeaway from @apple 's event yesterday: Storytelling is everything. Instead of selling a product, they demonstrated an experience or result that the product plays a part in. The camera told the story. The characters brought it to life. Brilliant.

Everything I get done is through time-blocking. Tasks I time-block: - Trading - Journaling - Meditation - Design work - Brainstorming - Learning - Eating lunch - Social time - Taking a nap - Shower - Gym A few things on this list may seem a bit overboard. I'll explain.
