WGA members have authorized a strike by 97.85%. Writers are ready for a deal from the studios that allows writers to share in the success of the content they create and build a stable life.

To our members: The WGA and AMPTP met for bargaining on Friday and will meet again on Saturday.
Thank you for the wonderful show of support on the picket lines today! It means so much to us as we continue to work toward a deal that writers deserve.
#WGAStrike
Though our Negotiating Committee began this process intent on making a fair deal, the studios’ responses have been wholly insufficient given the existential crisis writers are facing.
We stand behind

The studios need to respond to the crisis writers face. WGA members must demonstrate our willingness to fight for the contract writers need and deserve by supporting a strike authorization vote. 1/3

Day 146. After September 23rd: The Best and Final Offer we’re still waiting on a deal. So we’re out here keeping an eye on Dancing With The Stars, a WGA signatory show. I hope there’s a deal before the live premiere, but if not, we’ll be here for it.

When your hamfisted attempt to run a studio by shelving movies for tax write-offs and gutting Hollywood’s middle class is going so well that you have to call GQ to kill an article about why everyone hates you.
"Mini-rooms are abominations, and the refusal of the AMPTP to pay writers to stay with their shows through production — as part of the JOB, for which they need to be paid, not as a tourist — is not only wrong, it is incredibly short sighted,"

Workers should not be threatened with physical harm when exercising their right to publicly protest and picket against unfair wages and working conditions.
Netflix's Ted Sarandos and the CEOs of all the other studios appear to have underestimated the power of artistic solidarity, writes Times columnist Mary McNamara.
