The West Des Moines Community Schools is pleased to announce that David Maxwell has been hired to serve as the next Valley High School principal. He will officially start July 1, 2018.
A former WDMCS parent and current state senator shared the false narrative of Senate File 2310. It does not give the authority to Governor Reynolds to make up a 50% in-person requirement. School board should maintain local control. Public health requirements at 15% is too high.

A WDMCS parent shares her concerns over the removal of Chris Barr at Friday’s game. She says Barr provides positive support to young men who voluntary choose to participate in public prayer. She asks Barr to be reinstated.
A WDMCS student asks that Valley not change the policy that requires all students to attend finals which may not fit every course type. The current system provides flexibility and the new system is more strict which causes stress. A petition has 1,400 signatures.

Last month while she was getting ready for school, Brie Salloum's father suffered from a severe cardiac incident. Brie, who was part of Valley's CNA program, learned how to provide care during medical emergencies like this, and jumped right into action.
