Council employees Kenny McAdam and Tony Scanlon helped reunite a family with their elderly mum’s £20k life savings after it was dumped by mistake. The pair spent two hours sifting through waste as they tried to find the money, which was stored inside Bisto gravy tins.
Councillors have tonight agreed to provide free sanitary products in schools.
From the new year, products will be provided to any pupil who needs them in primary, secondary and ASN schools at no cost.
A bin lorry loving schoolboy got a birthday to remember yesterday after a surprise visit from our waste services team. Jack Gibbon,7, was kitted out before getting a tour of the bin lorry, and even got the chance to sit in the driver seat and collect a bin.

West Dunbartonshire Council Chief Executive Joyce White has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's 2018 New Year Honours List for her services to local government, education and Girl Guiding. Joyce said: "To receive the OBE is a huge honour and I feel truly privileged."

Saint Peter the Apostle High School is delighted to receive 10 laptops and support bundles containing headphones, dongle and data from ASDA. The school was nominated by Maryann Scott, an employee at the Clydebank Asda Store, and supported by Dell and Vodafone.

The new children’s playpark at Levengrove Park in Dumbarton opens to the public from this Saturday, April 28. The new playpark, which represents the Council’s biggest ever investment in such a facility at £227,400, is part of the wider £3.7m restoration of Levengrove.

A high-tech new system which will transform the way homes, businesses and public buildings in Clydebank are heated is now operational.
The District Heating Network is the first large-scale water source heat pump scheme of its kind in Scotland.
