A top professional like Nayanthara has asked her Association why they haven’t formed an ICC to protect rights of its members... this is the same matter WCC is addressing in the Writ Petition to the Kerala High Court and the Malayalam industry associations.
Kerala has had a legacy with pioneering organizations created to ensure welfare of members of the film industry. We believe it is important to uphold that legacy by introducing systems for safety of women as an integral objective of all industry bodies.

Our colleague Nayanthara in her reply has stated succinctly that the need of the hour is mechanisms for making complaints & seeking redressal. The laws of the land are clearly laid down and followed by most other industries. Why are these laws not followed in the film industry?
WCC stands with every woman who is raising their voice and fighting a lone battle against powerful patriarchal structures in society. We strongly urge the government and the women’s commission to immediately support the women who have shown courage to speak up and fight against
WCC joins the historical protest by the nuns against injustice and misogyny. This is a time when we are witnessing more women who are fearless , invincible and are determined to rise. The time of silence is over !

It has been one incredible year of learning the new and unlearning the old, a year of redefining and reinventing ourselves and our journey together! A movement set in motion a year ago has now entered its second year and is all geared up to take the journey forward from here(1/3)
We believe that the entire film fraternity needs to come together to achieve compliance with the law of the land by establishing an industry code of conduct & creating pioneering systems & checks in coordination with the Government.
