Aero explaining the very reasons why we set up WARP, with the sole aim of addressing these issues and de-risking the quicksand that is Web3 gaming in its current form.
It's hard to disagree with @ghost93_x here. The short-sightedness of this space has done crypto gaming no favors. Very few games have done meaningful modelling to justify their valuations pre-TGE. Very few games meaningfully model the efficacy of their sinks pre-TGE. Very few gaming chains and ecosystems try to appeal to smart money with a longer term investment thesis. It's become normal to pick numbers out of the sky, and dgaf about the consequences because the investment horizon is tomorrow. Games and chains spend so much doing the web3 attention dance, that UA and in-game revenue never have the chance of materializing, let alone competing with sell pressure. Gaming tokens should be used primarily by players. But for now the early gamers (the ones who might actually demand game tokens) are punished by this systemic flywheel of short term hype, short term investment, and short project runways that force neglect of what matters - qualified teams, building great games, and attracting investment based on business models that have a real chance of working. Change is needed and it's coming.
