Some things are universally true while others are conditional from person to person. Some methods and styles work better...

There is a serious issue with new subjects being told they're "hard to hypnotize" to me.
I'd rather they be encouraged to try a different medium, a different induction method, a different tist, a different topic, a different pace, or just to retry again after some reflection.
