That 2nd half performance is what we've been wanting for a long time. A proper gutsy performance, tackles going in and fighting to maintain the lead. Well deserved, much needed 3 points and a rare clean sheet.
You don't see too many old-school wingers like Ronald these days. Majority have converted into inside attackers playing on their opposite side. But Ronald keeping his width, looking to beat his man with pace and put good crosses in, great to see
Class again from Gabriele Ambrosetti. Sacked in the manner they were, many would never return, but he and Guidolin have both since been back at the Liberty.
#OnceAJackAlwaysAJack
The new set piece coach now really earning his crust. Very unfair for some fans to criticise him early.on, it takes time to practice routines on the training ground and transfer them to matchday. Our chances created from corners alone is already miles ahead of last season.
This is what happens when you:
hire someone to lead footballing decisions without any experience of doing it previously
Let him recruit the players and waste millions
Pick a manager the polar opposite of the previous one
Sack him, have zero plan and put your 2nd pick in charge
Chris Davies is a front runner but the Swans have a number of other targets in mind both domestic and overseas. All are excellent candidates to be fair. Thats as much as I can say.
What a huge, massive, collosal win that is. Luke's men turned up for this and more. The penalty miss could have seen a shift in circumstances but we dug in and got the final goal in a game that we proved we were much the better side throughout.
Since Duff was sacked on Dec 4, there has been 4 other sackings in the PL & Champ and 4 new manager hires to replace them.
The only one still yet to find a replacement is Swansea City. 16 days and counting.
Winning is obviously great, but there was so much more to be happy about than 3 points and a win today. The fighting spirit and team togetherness that was pouring out at the end was something we've been desperate for in years. Potter also deserves great credit for that.
The new investors have had an influence over Russ decision and his replacement. Not convinced by Russ, a shift away from that possession based type of football was preferred with an importance of results more a priority over style. They want us up in the Prem.
Simms has been in the city but also has visited other interested clubs so we'll wait and see what happens with that one. Talk of a high fee with this one around 3.5m
If Russell Martin is managing our first game of next season I'll be amazed and he deserves credit for sticking to it.
Fans are wasting their energy criticising him every week. Far, far bigger problems at the club than him yet the owners barely get a mention.
The fucking paper you work for reported that the fee was £1.2m and wages were 60k in full. You're admitting yourself that the paper you work for publish RUBBISH.
An awful lot of rubbish being bandied around on here about
@CardiffCityFC
paying huge wages to Harry Wilson. They are paying NOTHING REMOTELY CLOSE to the figures being quoted. Nor is the loan fee as high as claimed. But they do pay more to
@LFC
if Wilson helps them into Prem.
When you listen to Graham Potter speak you get the impression that he's lived and breathed the last few years here as a fan. Talking about wanting players who actually want to be here and fight for us. Almost turned things on its head given the players' application and attitude.
I'll admit, I was starting to fear the worst. A relegation battle and I can't be the only won as we still waited for our first win. But fair play to Duff, was under huge pressure and he's managed to ease all those concerns with 4 wins on the bounce!
Tell you what though, I'm really bored of fans by me moaning every single time we play it short out from the back. This is how we play, get used to it.
Watching performances like that in possession makes me hope that Potter is here to see out this long term project in its entirety. I just wish the doubters got behind him more.
"I moaned at everything our young players did tonight! Every kick! And would you believe it, they played really badly!"
I know we were bad but the shouts from the fans all game tonight were shocking. They've got no chance in front of that and it's no surprise we're getting worse
Imagine saying this.
Imagine saying this after not winning your first 5 league games.
Such a defeatist attitude. We don't do that down here for the derby. We just don't.
Duff on Cardiff next up on Sept 16.
🗣️"It's an important game. But it's not the be-all and end-all. I'd rather win promotion and get beat by Cardiff twice. People might not like that sometimes, but we need to show more fight and sprit to give us a chance of getting a result."
I've seen different comments on
@Daniel_James_97
from fans but for me I wish him all the best and have enjoyed watching him play for us this season. There's no way you can not join a club like Manchester United, I just hope his career continues to improve there.
Swans in talks with a few coaches who are all believed to be interested in the role. What's holding them back I don't know. There's been a constant lack of urgency to appoint.
It's a bit weird seeing some fans taking some satisfaction from seeing us fail this afternoon just because they didn't like Martin from the start. Really weird.
Biased or not, the best team in the entire tournament won. They've played the best, most entertaining football on the front foot. England did improve in recent games but they need a manager to unlock their attacking talent.

It has to be said.
@WayneRoutledge
didn't look like a 34 year old out there tonight. Energetic throughout and looks more than capable of giving us another good season at this level.
It's a relief I have to say. Some laughed off the idea that he could be sacked soon but it's been coming for some time now. He was lucky to get Saturday's game. Expect a replacement to be named quite soon.
To the swans fans supporting/wanting an England win tomorrow, have you not thought about the chants we'll get all season long if they win? It'll be unbearable
A golden era we were so lucky to experience. 7 consecutive premier league seasons shouldn't be underrated either.
Something that took planning, clever and well thought-out decisions in the best interests of the club. Oh to have that again.
Someone's going to have to explain this one to me about Mykola Kukharevych.
Just how on earth did he need a £2.1m fee to get him? Troyes bought him for 300k euros. Scored 5 in 15 in Scotland for Hibernian and we needed to spend £2.1m - on very good wages as well.
Baffling.
Cooper deserves plenty of credit this week. 2 excellent wins and we've improved a lot. Very professional today, good use of squad, better subs and defensively pretty sound too. Good all round! Let's hope we can keep it going, I feel we'll give Brentford a far better game
💬 | Swansea keen on more Korean players 🇰🇷
W/ Eom in the flock, I'm told
#Swans
are exploring the 🇰🇷 market for more players and are interested in Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu & Gangwon defender Lee Gi-hyuk. Korean news have yet to report, so stay tuned!🫡🇰🇷

Swanselona, Roberto Martinez, Chico, Michu and Rangel, Guillem Bauza, Amat, Mesa and Canas and even Vasquez. Orlandi, Serran, Gomez and Hernandez! Come on Spain! 🇪🇸😂😂
Football owners have to be in and amongst the club. Fully involved, getting their hands dirty and seeing the day to day running. Not sitting in their offices around the other side of the world not giving a fuck.
Get in there! Massive and much-needed 3 points and a clean sheet!
I've put this tweet off for the last hour or so but we've looked like a solid unit today. Relegation concerns most definitely eased after that!
