I’d add on to this that friendships change and that’s ok. Life will start to happen and it won’t be easy to see those friends as often as you may have in your 20s/30s and you can’t take that personal. Those friendships can still be just as meaningful during those times.

I think some people struggle now b/c it’s pushed that “self care” equals you don’t have to be reliable, punctual, or show up for others if you aren’t feeling like it. So when that becomes a pattern then it will be hard to maintain friendships. Now you at your bday dinner alone.
There are a lot of videos online of people in their late 20's and 30's saying they don't have any friends. Most people aren't aware that friendships aren't "natural" but a concentrated effort of getting to know someone by hanging out. Same with dating.
