Through its partnership with health technology firm Virtua is turning its standard inpatient rooms into "smart rooms." Michael Capriotti, Virtua’s newly appointed president of advanced care operations and logistics and a senior vice president, discussed the transformative benefits of these advances for both patients and staff. ICYMI, January 23 was Maternal Health Awareness Day, an annual event which aims to reduce health risks from pregnancy and childbirth. Virtua recognized the day by bringing awareness to the maternal mortality crisis in the United States and what can be done about it. Virtua leads efforts to identify and treat life-threatening conditions in mothers, and for four years has met 2030 federal targets for lower-C section rates in low-risk births. “These protocols reflect our work to apply critical thinking, to discern the most appropriate care plan, and to ensure equity,” explained Dr. Nicole Lamborne, VP of clinical operations for women’s health. “We have found new, effective techniques to identify potential problems earlier, and we quickly address those problems to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and babies.” Read in @ROINJNews :
