Best feature writing tips in 2025: • User Stories: Transform specs into scenarios • Pain Points: Connect features to problems • Examples: Show real-world applications • Outcomes: Paint the "after" picture • Before/After: Visualize the transformation • Quick Wins: Create immediate success • Templates: Make starting easy

What Software Companies thought would make their users excited about their product features: • Complex feature descriptions • Technical specifications • Long documentation What actually makes users happy: • Stories of user transformation using their product • Clear "why this matters" to them • Simple examples that click Everyone chases the 1st list—but it usually ends in disappointment.

5 "hacks" for better feature writing for your software product: • Start with the pain, not the solution. • Tell stories, not specifications. • Show outcomes, not features. • Write for humans, not robots. • Use examples, not explanations. It turns out that the only real feature-writing hacks aren't really hacks at all.

I used to see features the same as the 99%. But since adopting these 3 contrarian views held by the top 1%, how I view feature writing has completely changed (and got me to 90% user adoption): 1. Features aren't features - they're transformation stories. 2. Documentation isn't a manual - it's a mentor. 3. Specifications don't sell - outcomes do.

3 must-have feature writing skills every software company should know: • Paint the "before & after" picture (Like Notion showing messy docs vs organized workspace) • Translate technical features into user benefits (Databases aren't just tables, they're knowledge powerhouses) • Create "aha" moments through examples (Show, don't tell, like Notion's template gallery)

If you're writing feature docs and want users to actually read them, stop screwing around. • Choose user stories over feature lists. • Choose pain points over specifications. • Choose outcomes over capabilities. • Choose examples over explanations. In the short term, it will look crazy. In the long term, your product will be wildly successful.
