Support services are available in Northern Ireland for victims of sexual abuse or violence. If you are able to report your crime to police, please do so on 101, or 999 if you are in immediate danger. You will be listened to and treated with care.

Thanks @jemma_dolan for raising this issue. Our support is available to anyone who experiences criminal catfishing. Catfishing itself is not illegal, but it can often involve financial crime through romance scams, as well as more serious harassment and sexual offences.

Compensation can be an important step on the recovery journey for some victims who have been injured as a result of crime. Speak to our advice workers to find out if you qualify. You must have proof of your injury and apply within 2 years of the crime taking place.
