Look at this hailstorm in Manipur today at about 1400h. This is the impact of climate change in Manipur caused by illegal migrants clearing forest for poppy plantation and making random illegal habitation centers. Such hailstorm, which were rare, are now very common this year.
For champions of environment and world bodies on environment,
Manipur had a forest cover of 17,475 sqkm in 1987, which decreased to 16,598 sqkm in 2021 and is further reducing.
Of these forest cover lost, 877 sqkm of forest cover was destroyed primarily to grow poppy.

We provided livelyhood means, at micro level, for Manipur people living in IDP camps. Due to the communal clash, have been living here for nearly 6 months. Hope better opportunity will follow soon. We are very hopeful - as day follows the night. Some miracle perhaps will happen.
