A few years ago, a pub in London bought some of my prints. I've finally seen them in real life. This is the closest I'll ever get to having an exhibition.
Folks, would you mind helping me share this one last time before Elon's Engagement Killer is released? If you like insect illustrations, please give me a follow...
A number of people use the term 'insane' to describe the act of rendering such detail and, frankly, they're probably right. What kind of a moron would choose to draw each of these dots individually, rather than finding a brush that would achieve that effect?
A lot of people seem impressed / surprised by my hercules beetle, so I'm rolling out one of my favourite drawings once again - this lovely assassin bug...
Folks, I am feeling very trepidatious about sharing this piece as I've worked solidly on it since September (and it's not a bug). So, with a certain degree of apprehension, I present to you... Judgemental Owl
I'm not sure if it'll ever happen (due to how long it takes me to draw plus a very small market), but I was recently reminded of my long-term ambition to create my own book about insects. Here are some of my example spreads...
This assassin bug is one of my favourite drawings. The wings over the abdomen were a real challenge, but hours and hours of patient scribbling paid off in the end.
Hey

, I spend ages drawing detailed insects (plus an owl) and am currently taking a massive break from drawing due to no-one buying them.
Well, I've only drawn 6 bugs this year, but I'm pleased with all of them. Looking forward to crossing some more off my list in 2023. Thanks for all the follows and support.

Bloody hell, a lot of new people have seen my insect drawings recently. This is all very lovely indeed. I don't believe in heaven, but if there was one there would be a special VIP section for everyone who supports artistic endeavour with such joyous positivity.
@sapph0kanikan
Thanks - much appreciated. I do take lovely detailed photos of my specimens to work from, so it's not far off macro photography. Just takes about 2 months longer!
Lots of people have struggled to see my marks in the crop I shared, so here are a couple of even more zoomed in screenshots that show how I draw. The marks look quite rubbish this close up, but when zoomed out they look pretty good.
