On this date 2 years ago, Ole Miss football was 3-5 and on their way to a 4-8 season. Today they are 6-1, bowl eligible, and ranked in the Top 10. Amazing how hiring a competent coach and staff can spark such a quick turnaround. Glad to be better off now than we were then.

Lucas' scans came back very positive. No evidence of active disease in the soft tissue and only one area of concern on his femur. We're still only about halfway done with treatment but seeing this much progress is nothing short of miraculous.

Let me tell y'all about my God, modern medicine, and prayer. Lucas has turned a corner BIG time. All weekend he was on oxygen and liquid nutrition. Yesterday, he was eating solids and smiling, today he's playing in the playroom! The doctors said this quick a recovery is so rare.

This dude just got out of the scans follow-up. The oncologist is thrilled with Lucas' reaction to the treatment. The majority of the tumors have shrunk by at least 50%. After the next 2 rounds, we will do more scans and discuss operability. We're definitely "on the right track".

We got the results from Lucas' last set of scans. There is no evidence of active disease in the soft tissue! This is obviously very welcome news. There are still some spots in the bone but the doctor seems confident that the maintenance therapy will resolve them over time...

Last Christmas we were in between stem cell transplants and, frankly, weren't 100% sure it wouldn't be our last Christmas with him. This year, he's happy, healthy, and in remission and that's honestly the best present ever. Merry Christmas, y'all.

Well, it's surgery day. And it's a big one. They're going to make about a foot-long incision in his chest and go get as many of the now-benign tumors as possible. Surgeon said expects anywhere from 4-6 hours. I'm sure he'll be just fine, but we could still use y'alls prayers.

IT'S FIVE-YEAR SURVIVAL DAY! April 23, 2019, Lucas was diagnosed with Stage IV malignant Neuroblastoma. The chances of him seeing today were literally 50/50. We are so blessed to have him with us still, not just surviving but thriving. Glory to be God, modern medicine, and y'all.

After 2 years (1 because of treatment, 1 because of, well, 2020) Lucas finally went back to school today. His special needs require more for schooling than just sitting in front of an iPad and his amazing teachers are ready to help get him back on track. Very excited for him.
