@SandipNandhra Also NIHR concentrates on methods and costs are considered in the end. If they think your costs are inflated, they negotiate. Don't worry about costs - concentrate on design. Prof Hamdy has a single grant nearly £100 mn. He convinced them - clearly!

@SandipNandhra NIHR has a good idea of how much a study costs. Once they asked me to check costs in my application for 1.2mn - in fact I made a mistake and we needed 2mn. Managing CTU is also a skill we are expected to develop. It is like surfing - don't complain about the waves - ride them!
