How can I incorporate students first #language in the classroom? -provide access to resources in Stu L1 📚 -include lang Stu speak on walls🗣️ -invite languages into the lesson👩🏻‍🏫 -encourage families to speak in the lang they are most rich in 💎 #teaching

Since we know that first #language supports second language acquisition why would anyone ignore a student’s L1? It makes sense to encourage, invite, use, affirm, & leverage L1 as students acquire L2. #multilingual #bilingual #ELL #ESL #TESOL
