🇫🇲 Micronesia vs Marshall Islands 🇲🇭
🇹🇻 Tuvalu vs Kiribati 🇰🇮
These games have been suggested for this year, but funding will be a crucial requirement for both games to happen with the distances and costs of traveling between the islands.
We offer every team our support. 🤝
The last Non-FIFA world cup was held 8 years ago, the 2018 CONIFA World Football Cup in London saw 16 teams take part in the 10 day tournament at 10 venues, sponsored by

and the final held at
@ETFCOfficial
Did you attend any of the games or have any memories?
In 2018 Tuvalu became the first team from Oceania to feature in a non-FIFA World Cup, with the rise of teams in the region including
@OfficialFSMFA
and
@SoccerFedMI
Could we see greater representation of the region in the future?
Currently no team from South America has featured in a non-FIFA World Cup. However, the Falklands Islands have made several appearances at the biannual Island Games, having appeared 8 times since 2001.
They also played a friendly against
@chagosisland
in 2023
After being denied the opportunity to join UEFA. Jersey set its sights on non-FIFA football. Despite qualifying for the 2020 tournament Jersey has never featured at a World Cup, and last hosted the Island Games in 2015.
Could Jersey with big ambitions be a future World Cup host?
The biggest non-FIFA tournament happening this summer is the Corsica Cup, kicking off on Wednesday 22nd May it'll feature Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily and CONCACAF members Saint Martin.
Games will be played across the beautiful island of Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea.
It's safe to say people want to see non-FIFA finally return in 2025, and are now looking at alternative organisations to deliver it. We hear you and we aim to deliver. 🔜
Let's see these crowds again! 😉
Tibet first appearanced at a non-FIFA World Cup at the 2018 tournament in London and left a lasting impression. They returned to competition in the first Asian Cup in 2023 but missed the opportunity to compete in 2024 through postponement.
Could Tibet return again soon?

Cascadia remains the only North American team to feature in a non-FIFA World Cup featuring in the 2018 edition where they finished 6th despite only meeting for the first time just days before the tournament.
The team played their first home game against
@DarfurUnited
in 2019.
How will the 2025 Unrepresented World Cup work?
8 Teams will participate next year and will be split into 2 groups of 4. The top 2 teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals while the next 2 will go to placement games. Each team will play 5 games, with 20 games total.
Greenland, which has aspirations to join CONCACAF, will be testing themselves against FIFA opposition this summer.
Games like this are an important step to prove the nation's ability which might help demonstrate how the territory might fare in CONCACAF competitions.
🇬🇱 Greenland's men's national team will face Turkmenistan in a friendly in Turkey.
The date is yet to be confirmed but Greenland's training camp is between May 30 and June 7.
Greenland remains locked out of UEFA but is exploring CONCACAF as an option.
Most non-FIFA fans today share one thing. A favourite 2018 London memory. Whether it was watching Tibet vs Northern Cyprus, Hungarian supporters at Szeklerland or Kárpátalja games or the final at
@ETFCOfficial
.
Fans have been calling for its return since, could that be us?
We are delighted with the initial response to
@paul_c_watson
's post, and have seen a number of messages from people keen to support the event while we continue to work on details in the background.

The day after CONIFA's World Football Cup was postponed,
@UnrepSports
have announced plans for a 2025 non-FIFA tournament in and around London.
I loved helping organise the 2018 World Football Cup in London but would anyone be interested in a non-FIFA World Cup in 2025?
🇬🇱 Greenland has officially applied for membership of CONCACAF.
A letter on the Greenland Football Association's Facebook page confirms the historic application has been made.
Greenland's path to UEFA is blocked by current rules but CONCACAF is theoretically an open route.
Greenland makes regular appearances at the Island Games but has never won the competition, but twice reached the final.
How would Greenland perform at a non-FIFA World Cup?
Greenland, which has aspirations to join CONCACAF, will be testing themselves against FIFA opposition this summer.
Games like this are an important step to prove the nation's ability which might help demonstrate how the territory might fare in CONCACAF competitions.
We're pleased to announce plans for a brand new non-FIFA international football tournament, the Independent Associations Cup.
Planned for Summer 2025, more details to be shared at a later date.
When did you start following non-FIFA football? The Muratti Vase? The Island Games? During the NF-Board? The launch of CONIFA? The 2018 World Football Cup in London?
How long has your journey been and will the next stop be the Independent Associations Cup next summer?
Northern Cyprus has been a staple of non-FIFA football since 2005, hosting the KTFF 50th Anniversary Cup against Kosovo and Sapmi, and never finished lower than 3rd in the 3 non-FIFA World Cups they've participated in.
@KTFFofficial
last played in 2018 where they finished 2nd.
Its only been a week since we announced our plans to organise our first non-FIFA World Cup for all the fans disappointed by the recent cancellations, postponements and minimal communication
The interest has been massive and we've got a few things that should start dropping soon!
Just joining us? Let us introduce ourselves. We're working to deliver the first non-FIFA World Cup since 2018. Don't remember what 2018 was like?
Here's a video by
@joelgolby
for
@VICE
to show you what the Unrepresented World Cup will feel like!
Greenland has featured in every edition of the Island Games Football Tournament, except in 2007 and 2019, as well as appearing at the FIFI Wild Cup and ELF Cup, both in 2006, but has never featured in a non-FIFA World Cup.
We can confirm that we're planning for every game of the Unrepresented World Cup to be streamed online for everyone. Details for this will be confirmed at a later date.
Since 2006 there have been 34 different representative teams that have participated in a non-FIFA World Cup, but which of those could see themselves at our event next year? And could any teams that have never featured in a non-FIFA World Cup make their debut?
While no current plans for a women's tournament are in the works we want to raise awareness for the unrepresented everywhere, including the
@AfghanWnt
who have been largely forgotten by FIFA with no opportunities to represent their country. Instead, spread across the world.
The Western Sahara women's team played a number of friendlies against club sides in Spain over the weekend. We look forward to seeing their continued progress when we prepare to launch the Unrepresented Women's World Cup in the coming years.
Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily are 3 European non-FIFA teams that have already put in strong displays this week at the 2024 Corsica Cup, with the finals taking place tomorrow.
No team has previously featured at a non-FIFA World Cup, might it be time for this to change?
Last night the Palestinian women's team played a friendly against Irish club Bohemian in Dublin.
Palestine won the game 2-1, but the game meant so much more than the result.
Teams with the most appearances in a non-FIFA World Cup are tied between Kurdistan and Padania, both have featured in 6 World Cups.
Kurdistan: 4 VIVA World Cups, 2 CONIFA WFCs
Padania: 3 VIVA World Cups, 3 CONIFA WFCs
Both made their debut in the 2008 VIVA World Cup in Sapmi
Since 2006 there have been 34 different representative teams that have participated in a non-FIFA World Cup, but which of those could see themselves at our event next year? And could any teams that have never featured in a non-FIFA World Cup make their debut?
A great day for everyone in the Channel Islands as Jersey wins the men's final and Guernsey wins the women's.
Great crowds in the background of these pictures, imagine a day like this but repeated over an entire week.
That's what we're proposing to bring to the island🇯🇪🇬🇬
Corsica wins the final. Beating CONCACAF side Saint Martin 2-1 in the final. Goals by Félix Tomi and Benjamin Santelli secure the victory for the tournament hosts.
Benjamin Santelli finished the tournament with the golden boot with today's goal adding to his semi-final hat trick
"The American Dream"
Despite the number of non-FIFA teams based in North America there has never been a major tournament. A planned tournament in 2023 was cancelled with no future plans announced.
With the wealth of venues and teams based there, is it only a matter of time?
8 places are up for grabs next summer, we're working to welcome a wide variety of teams, spanning across the globe with many having never featured at a non-FIFA World Cup before!
How will the 2025 Unrepresented World Cup work?
8 Teams will participate next year and will be split into 2 groups of 4. The top 2 teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals while the next 2 will go to placement games. Each team will play 5 games, with 20 games total.
Some great scenes in the crowd at the
@FenixTrophy
yesterday. Could we see a similar atmosphere next summer?
What teams would like to be cheering on at the Unrepresented World Cup?
We're gutted for the Tibet team. Confirmed today that they would not feature in the 2024 Women's World Cup. Initially announced to feature 6 teams, this has gradually decreased to only 3 with minimal communication to explain the issues involved.
We cannot describe the response today to this announcement, we've seen plenty of new followers excited about our plans, emails for excited volunteers, and even some media opportunities.
We welcome all the support available, please email us at hello[at]
The extremely short list of teams outside of Europe would suggest there may not be many CONIFA organised continental cups in 2025, but could there still be events organised by others?
After our inaugural 2025 Unrepresented World Cup we will be looking at means to deliver our own women's tournament with a minimum of 6 teams and a place reserved for the
@AfghanWnt
should FIFA continue to not elevate the team to where they belong.
We hope you'll join us there 🇦🇫
Later today Greenland will face FIFA member Turkmenistan in Turkey. Their first game against FIFA opposition since 2013 when they played Bermuda in the Island Games.
The game later will be streamed with details dropping closer to kick off.
The Muratti Vase is one of the biggest football events each year in the Channel Islands. Earlier this week we suggested Jersey could host a non-FIFA World Cup.
With this year's final in Jersey, could this be a topic of discussion on both islands going into tomorrow's game?
Bonaire and Sint Maarten, both members of CONCACAF, but not FIFA, have announced a friendly during the June international window with the game to take place in Arnhem in the Netherlands. 🇧🇶🇸🇽
This weekend let's have a look at the eligibility criteria for the 2025 Independent Associations Cup and some of the examples of teams already competing in Non-FIFA international football that could be invited to participate.
(None of the teams below are confirmed participants)
We'll be sharing updates of the 2024 Corsica Cup this week as details come through of the various games. We're not on the scene unfortunately but we're keen to promote this non-FIFA tournament over the coming games.
Hey
@SpencerOwen
👋
Do you remember attending a World Cup in 2018? No, not that one. The one in London? We're working to bring back the World Cup for teams outside FIFA for the first time since 2018. Any chance you could help us get the word out?
@jamesbrown333
@CONIFAOfficial
We've spoken with a number of teams that have expressed interest in participating in the Unrepresented World Cup, but we are not in a position yet to confirm these publicly as not all those that have expressed interest will be invited for next year's edition.
Catalonia has organised a basketball team with a history stretching back to the 1920s, and most recently returning from hiatus in 2023 with a game against Argentina.
Catalonia played several FIBA members in the 80s and 2000s, but not members themselves.
Unrepresented Sports aims to be more than just football and seeks to invest in the unrepresented. What sport do you enjoy that you feel are under-invested and under-represented in your country putting it outside the mainstream? 🏉🏒🥍🏀
“Unrepresented Sports is currently considering 2 proposals within Europe to host the inaugural competition in 2025 (with options for editions in 2027 and 2029) with more details to be announced, in the coming months.“

Sicily 1-1 Saint Martin FT
Sicily 4-5 Saint Martin Penalties
Saint Martin will join hosts Corsica at the final this weekend, Sicily will face Sardinia in the third place playoff
Currently Sápmi are the only 2 time hosts, in 2008 and 2014. This is out of 7 places that have hosted a non-FIFA World Cup. The tournaments were won by Padania and the County of Nice respectively.
Which never before visited location would you like to see host a tournament?
"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our partners and to all our people for their exceptional support during Corsica Cup 2024
We also thank our supporters, friends, volunteers and everyone who contributed to this success." 1/2
Two games today in the Corsica Cup, firstly the Third Place Playoff between Sicily and Sardinia will kick off at 14.30 CEST while hosts Corsica will play CONCACAF side Saint Martin this evening at 19.00 CEST
We've been asked multiple times about what our existence means to CONIFA/WUFA. Unrepresented Sports and the Independent Associations Cup are not affiliated to either.
This means any team that meets our criteria can participate with no commitments to future editions.
Corsica's message from this week's tournament is clear. The island is seeking to join UEFA. Similar aspirations are shared with many non-FIFA teams like Jersey and Greenland.
Later today Greenland will face FIFA member Turkmenistan in Turkey. Their first game against FIFA opposition since 2013 when they played Bermuda in the Island Games.
The game later will be streamed with details dropping closer to kick off.
We are delighted to announce that
@twhowe_media
has joined the team as Head of Media Operations
🗣️"I'm a major advocate for the power that sport has in reaching unrepresented peoples & am grateful for an opportunity to amplify voices across the globe."
Yesterday's final was played in front of a crowd of 3,000 to see Corsica retain their trophy at Stade Ange-Casanova in Ajaccio.

The Mediterranean islands of Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily had previously announced plans for their own football tournament and suggested the tournament could feature 4-teams.
Who would be your pick to join the tournament?
The Corsica is kicking off later this month, featuring Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, and CONCACAF side Saint Martin!
Semi-finals are taking place on May 22nd, with the third place and final taking place on the 24th and 25th May respectively.
We continue to grow on social media while we await the new year so we can hit the ground running to organise the Independent Associations Cup!
Can you help us surpass 100 followers before 2024?
As well as football the
@FinsSardigna
organisation also operates the Sardinian basketball team. 🏀
Could we one day see the first ever "Unrepresented Basketball World Cup"?
Did you know there was a non-FIFA football tournament held on the Isle of Man in 2013? The Tynwald Hill Tournament was hosted by
@StJohnsUtdAFC
and featured Alderney, Sealand, Tamil Eelam, Occitania, and Raetia!
Occitania won the final against the hosts St John's Utd 2-0.
The Afghan women continue to seek representation. Largely forgotten by FIFA with no routes to participate in international competitions since November 2021. Their only opportunity to fly their flag was in a 2022 friendly against
@IntSurreyWomen
.
Their fight continues. 🇦🇫
"We can stand against the patriarchy in Afghanistan and show the world how strong the women in Afghanistan are.”
The words of the incredible

Last night non-FIFA CONCACAF members Bonaire and Sint Maarten played a friendly in the Netherlands with Sint Maarten taking the victory with a 3-1 win 🇸🇽🇧🇶
Yesterday we shared some examples of the teams that could be invited to participate in the inaugural Independent Associations Cup next year.
But what teams do you want to see? Tag them below and perhaps you could be kick starting a conversation! 👀
This weekend let's have a look at the eligibility criteria for the 2025 Independent Associations Cup and some of the examples of teams already competing in Non-FIFA international football that could be invited to participate.

Happy New Year to our supporters and followers. The wheels are already in motion this year with the first meetings being booked in for some of the arrangements for the 2025 Independent Associations Cup.
More outreach to be done, but what teams do you want to see next summer?
Earlier today we announced our first (and certainly not last) ever sponsorship of remote football in the form of the Ratak Cup futsal tournament in the Marshall Islands! 🇲🇭
More details below 👇
Saint Martin is the only non-FIFA team participating this week that is a member of a confederation. However, the CONCACAF side will be calling up European-based players, with many featuring in the French National 3. Many players were born in France but of Saint Martin descent.
We've received a great response from interested volunteers since our announcement. If you're interested in supporting our plans for 2025 please drop us an email and we will be contacting people next week to discuss further details.

Our founder Danny Clarke spoke with
@NoFIFAFut
about Unrepresented Sports.
You can listen to the interview below ⬇️ (Questions given in Spanish, Answers provided in English.)
Guernsey women have reclaimed the women's Muratti Vase for the first time in 16 years, breaking a long streak by Jersey which included a period where Guernsey couldn't raise a squad for the fixture.
The 2006 VIVA World Cup, the first NF Board tournament, was played in Occitania. However it was originally supposed to be playing in Northern Cyprus.
A disagreement between the KTFF and NF Board resulted in the tournament being moved, instead the KTFF hosted their own ELF Cup
The hosts Corsica will be bringing 24 players to this week's tournament and won't be short of quality with players up to the French Ligue 1 included.
Recently moved to Paris FC Vincent Marchetti and Lille player Rémy Cabella are involved with a number of locally based players.
What is Unrepresented Sports?
Unrepresented Sports plans to break the non-FIFA football mold by not being a federation of associations, but instead serving as an event organiser. Arranging events that teams can then apply to participate in.
We spoke with
@JEPsport
last week to discuss whether Jersey could be a potential host for the Unrepresented World Cup.
We certainly believe the island can host such a tournament and hope the whole of Jersey will show its support and help us deliver it.
We held some positive discussions earlier today with a venue for the final of the Independent Associations Cup and while it's not as big as
@MetLifeStadium
or
@ATTStadium
we could be bringing non-FIFA football to a venue that's never hosted it before! 😮👀
Unrepresented Sports is investigating potentially hosting a mini-tournament later this year to test logistics and suppliers ahead of the Independent Associations Cup, but what teams could feature?
Let us know your suggestions for teams that you'd like to see at the 2024 event ⬇️
The Corsica Cup kicks off tomorrow, but it's not the first tournament to bear the name. The Corsica Football Cup was held in 2010 and saw Corsica host fellow non-FIFA side Brittany and two FIFA members, Gabon and Togo.
Corsica won the tournament, beating Brittany and Gabon.
Our first tournament, the Independent Associations Cup, will debut next year seeking to include a varied assortment of teams. Because we do not have a membership system, and instead invite to each event separately we will be reaching out to a wide number of representative teams.
"We have received a large amount of interest from teams across the globe looking for a new competition and while we’ve received enough interest for a sixteen-team event we will be starting small with eight teams"
AFCON continues in Côte d'Ivoire with the conclusion of the Round of 16, but what about non-FIFA African football?
An African cup for teams outside of FIFA has only been held once, the 2022 CONIFA Africa Cup in South Africa featuring just 3 teams. Is it time for something new?
