This is how you get your voice heard. Not only through endless statements, but by action! Solidarity to these high school students in Los Angeles for using their 👟& 📢to disrupt. We also need educators to do strike action, work stoppages & other tactics for our liberation.

Despite all students having to log-in to apps for attendance monitoring purposes, don't forget that the over-arching purpose of these apps are for universities to enforce the #HostileEnvironment policy on migrant students. Why has @UofGlasgow changed its monitoring system? 🧵

And for those reasons, this is why @UofGlasgow, has upped the carceral nature of it's attendance monitoring of migrant students by employing the services of the @safezoneapp.

Failing to pass a second Home Office inspection would mean that @UofGlasgow would neither be granted permission to sponsor migrant student nor migrant academic staff- something that in August 2012, @LondonMetUni experienced.

In December 2024, @UofGlasgow sent around a staff message indicating that during a Home Office audit, their monitoring produces "were found to be short of the bar" and would need to institute changes & "emergency measures" in order to pass the second inspection.
