Just a day late, but #WorldWetlandsDay deserves the love! N. America once had 60–400 million beavers, but their near-extinction led to massive wetland loss. Today, Wisconsin is experimenting with mock beaver dams to restore #wetlands.

Are you a "beaver believer"? Beaver dams not only store $3.3B worth of #stormwater, reducing floods, but also create #trout-friendly habitats in #Milwaukee streams. Time to prioritize nature-based solutions & support reintroducing beaver #wetlands. @WDNR
