On Saturday, they will play as conference mates for the last time. They first played in 1893. Future President Hoover managed that Stanford team and made the trip to Seattle. They didn't play again until 1920 in PCC play.

With Colorado beating Stanford today, UW is the only school in the conference to be Bowl eligible every year this decade. That is by no means the acceptable expectation, but coming off the worst decade of Husky football, it's an important minimum baseline for the program.

This is such a lazy take. He's not a "second year" coach. He's "smooth transition, whose going to improve things" coach. If you can't fire a coach after two years in the Pac, we now know why the Pac isn't competitive nationally. The Pac is not serious about football.
Because it's his 2nd year, and in his first year he won the division, and because you don't fire a 2nd year coach after 1 bad year unless there are legal/NCAA issues
