@dparsons1 @JDSHELBURNE Sorry, just realized I didn’t send the rest of the story. We beat IU. I was wearing an Army coat. And as we’re walking out of the RCA Dome, I hear them say “fu*k Kentucky & fu*k the US Army. I’m 45 and have never had that said to me again, let alone a couple months after 9/11

@dparsons1 @JDSHELBURNE My wife, who has two IU degrees, bought tickets for us and my grandparents to the IU/UK game that happened shortly after 9/11. It was at the old RCA dome at the time I was still in the National Guard. And I had orders to deploy overseas, not long after that…..

@dparsons1 @JDSHELBURNE Loyal, delusional, and can be flat out be the nastiest fan base. I’ve lived the majority of my life in Southern IN, and I love both IN & KY. And I have several IU fan friends. But many of their fans are obsessed with UK and I’ve had some nasty interactions first hand
