"Forget the football side of things, what an honor it was for me to coach against the Naval Academy." After the game, the Wildcats stayed for Navy's Alma mater. Coach Klieman said it was a moment to honor their tradition.

Just found this picture today and don’t remember seeing it before. Unfortunately I’m using it to announce the passing of my mom, who died just after midnight today after suffering from Lewy Body dementia and a heart attack a month ago. Please keep my stepdad in your thoughts.
Good luck to USNA 2021 as they find out their service assignments today. If you’re disappointed with what you get, you can mourn for a day - then own it. It’s yours and you will kick ass.
Army has won 3 of the last 4 matchups against Navy.
This is the first matchup played at West Point since 1943. Army was the consensus national champion the following year in 1944.

These uniforms are better than I expected. To me, it's always the helmet that sets the tone and those are ridiculously good. There's gonna be haters, but they can pound sand. Gimme these over olive drab plastic army men 24/7/365.
Feel bad for all the Mids that made the trip and have a longer one back to the Hall. Hope y'all have safe trips home and good breaks. You've earned it.
Yes, 2020 sucked, but I wanna hear the good things that happened for you.
For me:
>I lost 10 pounds
>My back feels the best it has in 6 yrs
>We got our first granddaughter
>Our other son got engaged
>We "adopted" a bunch of cool MidKids
>Work situation is fantastic.
Jeff Monken: "Don't say no to Army, because you're not just saying no to our team. You're saying no to the 1.3 million people who serve on active duty all over the world who want to have that source of pride represented in a bowl game."
When Malcolm Perry was asked if ready for the press conference, he respectfully said,
"Yes, Ma'am"
This is a young man who I doubt will ever be out-worked or out-classed.
I would guess he has the respect of every single person on and off the field.
After today’s game at The Citadel,
@NavyWSoccer
was joined on the field by Rear Admiral Jim Flatley, USNA ‘56. Flatley played soccer at Navy for Glenn Warner in the 1950s.

Happy 34th anniversary to my much better half
@alisportshots
. She was a gorgeous bride and hasn’t changed a bit despite dealing with me all these years.
Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my much better half
@alisportshots
. Every day I wonder what I did to deserve her and how the hell she looks so young despite dealing with me.
Just pointing out what
@_CoachNew
has done to Army the last three years:
2021: 11 first downs, 124 rush yds, 232 total yds, 13 points
2020: 8 first downs, 134 rush yds, 162 total yds, 15 points
2019: 9 first downs, 123 rush yds, 148 total yds, 7 points
We were informed this morning that Head Coach Kevin Stefanski, two additional members of the coaching staff and two players have tested positive for COVID-19.
Our contingency planning calls for Special Teams Coordinator Mike Priefer to serve as the acting Head Coach.
So much wrong here, and indicative of how hard it will be to overcome this kind of thinking. For one, he acted on his hatred. Second, and worse, his hatred was based on the color of someone's skin. I wouldn't want that in my Navy and neither should you.
A lot to unpack here. Yes the kid probably said some things that he shouldn’t have. But he’s allowed to have personal views right? The act of hating another person can’t be against any rules, if you don’t act on them.
I couldn’t join everyone honoring David Forney yesterday because of lax but I did it today. I rowed 6.8 miles because let’s face it - I don’t run unless I’m being chased. But this row felt different.

Since September is Suicide Prevention Month, I'm bringing this thread back to my timeline. My best friend and my oldest son's godfather committed suicide on April 20, 1986 and it still hurts. Please reach out to someone - ANYONE - if you're having those types of thoughts.
So, today is the 12th anniversary of my USNA roommate committing suicide. It still bothers me. I keep asking "why?" and "what could I have done to stop it?"
