4/ In response, @UNFPA, through @UNCERF-funded project, is implementing critical interventions to mitigate #GBV and its consequences in drought-affected communities in Namibia. These efforts include provision of: 🟠dignity kits 🟠life skills education 🟠mobile outreach services

3/ Namibia is currently facing a severe drought crisis, worsened by the effects of El Niño, which has disproportionately impacted women and girls. The crisis is further aggravated by economic challenges and rising unemployment, leading to widespread food insecurity.@UNCERF

2/ Each dignity kit contained essential hygiene items and a Youth Learning Passport—a booklet providing crucial information on sexual and reproductive health (#SRH) and gender-based violence (#GBV). @UNCERF

💔 Female genital mutilation leaves lasting scars—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Survivors face complications that impact them for a lifetime. 🛑 Prevention is key. Support survivors, raise awareness, and strengthen partnerships with them. #Unite2EndFGM #EndFGM

3/ Speaking at the opening, @UNFPA Namibia Rep. Erika Goldson acknowledged the challenges of operating in a resource-constrained environment. “This is an opportunity for us to think creatively & embrace innovative approaches in the design and implementation of our programmes.”
