17/1/25 The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child welcomes the agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza, with a sense of hope for the children whose suffering was immense over the course of the conflict. It is now imperative that the full flow of humanitarian aid reach the children and that they be prioritized to resume a semblance of normal life and that all their rights under the Convention on the Rights of the Child be respected. The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child #UNCRC echoes the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict's call “... on all actors to ensure that children are protected from violence, including sexual violence, and clashes and that they are not involved in hostilities”. @lexpsy

@ the EVAC Conference in Bogota, the #UNCRC committed to be more deliberate in questioning states about all forms of violence against children, intensify the issue in concluding observations, + will stress states to ensure access to justice and remedies for child victims of violence.

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child expresses its serious concern regarding the situation of children, as young as 14 years old, arraigned for having protested against the cost of living increase. Reportefly several fainted in court from exhaustion.
