If you are truly interested in attending a university, especially one that invites you to a prospect camp because they’ve shown genuine interest, missing a fall tournament to attend that camp should be encouraged by the parents and travel coach.

CATCHERS!!!! Be quiet with your movements, especially framing. You can cause a pitcher from getting borderline strikes because you’re being stiff and having jerky movements. RECEIVE don’t reach!

I’m 2 weekends into recruiting heavily (let’s be honest, we never STOP recruiting)…but these last two weeks have been fantastic getting to see/hang with so many of my coaching friends, making new ones, and being around quality softball minds from all levels.

When a freshman misses a sign for a bunt in the fall bc they read the card wrong and swings away instead with an end result in an FC6-4, we have a teaching moment…apparently when I asked “are we reading the same card?” the umpire found it to be hilarious.

I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the awesome women in our program! They combined to have a 3.5+ team GPA with 7 players earning a 4.0! All of the UMO STUDENT-athletes combined to have an average 3.19 GPA!

What a great day at UMO. We had a fantastic prospect camp, the campers and their parents kept telling me how great our team was during camp, and we saw so many great athletes INCLUDING some from our 2024 class (and some soon to be?! ). It’s time for a 2.75 day nap 😴😂
