This weekend is the 40th Anniversary of The A Team being first broadcast on ITV. The series was launched on 22nd July 1983 with the pilot film before the full series launched the following week. The series quickly moved to a Saturday night.

Happy 50th Birthday to ITV Daytime, #onthisday back in 1972 ITV broadcasting hours were legally extended. Just look at the host of new programmes lined up for you every weekday afternoon after Schools. Grampian, Border and UTV didn't start until later in the year.

Happy 30th anniversary as #onthisday back in 1993 Eastenders theme was changed to this Jazzy version. What is more shocking it took them 11 month to get rid, after all the backlash..... First appearing on 11th May 1993 and disappearing 11 April 1994.

This is BBC 1; 40 years ago #OnThisDay in 1984, the first edition of the BBC Six O'Clock News was broadcast with Sue Lawley and Nicholas Witchell, plus Jeremy Paxman as the first relief newsreader. Here is a clip from 1984, nothing in BBC news has ever matched this.
