Today was my last Fire Authority meeting. It was nice to receive their appreciation for my 13 years as a PO in Lancs and the last 5.5 years as CFO. There have been many challenges and opportunities that we have met together to make Lancashire a safer place for all.

We are proud to have unveiled a Red Plaque in memory of Bob Smith and Paul Parkin, two firefighters who lost their lives as the result of an explosion at a Sheffield steel plant in 1974.
50 years on, we remember their bravery. Their story is a vital part of our history.
We remember the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks on this day in 2001.
Our thoughts are also with the survivors, many of whom are still living with the health impact today.
Every year, the Tribute in Light illuminates the night sky, as a powerful symbol of remembrance and resilience.
Twin beams stand as a tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001; and are a reminder that even in the darkest times, light always endures.

Today we remember the lives lost on 9/11.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service stands in solidarity with all those affected by the tragedy that took place at the World Trade Centre in 2001🕯️
As we approach the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on 9/11, we reflect on the tremendous loss & impact of that day. We stand with fire departments worldwide in solemn remembrance, honoring the lives lost, the families changed, & the legacy of heroism that will never be forgotten.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Firefighter Francois ‘Frankie’ Childs, who passed away suddenly yesterday.
Frankie, 44, had been a much-loved member of Green Watch at Broughton fire station for more than six years.
RIP Frankie 💔
We're throwing it back every Thursday on our socials until the end of the year to celebrate 50 years of CFRS. 🎉

In the years leading up to the Grenfell Tower fire, Westminster boasted of a 'bonfire' of building regulations.
For decades, politicians have allowed corporate greed to turn safe homes into potential death traps.
