@AliceRobijns Not at this time, we apologize. We don't distribute ChimeraX outside of our website so that we can present users with the license agreement before they download the program, and we use that interaction to track download statistics.

@taha_shahid @CrollTristan @philipturnerar @openmm_toolkit We expect to make a ChimeraX 1.7.1 release in January 2024 and I have added the Metal libraries (OpenMM platform HIP) which are about 20% faster than OpenCL on a Mac M2. In ChimeraX 1.7 use the OpenMM OpenCL platform.

@taha_shahid @CrollTristan @philipturnerar @openmm_toolkit ChimeraX 1.7 includes the standard Conda Mac ARM OpenMM 8.0 (exact version openmm-8.0.0-mac-py311h68ae2cc_1_apple.tar.bz2 from . I don't see any mention of a Metal OpenMM platform. I thought OpenCL is the fasted Mac option.

@Q_M_Smith The soft and full lighting modes cast shadows from 64 directions. On a fast GPU that is usually fast enough. But on say a laptop with Intel graphics and a 1 million atom structure it can make rotating the model choppy.
